Residential Summer Camps

We provide residential summer camps so that young people can spend fun days together while developing skills in nature.

We cultivate friendships in fun and challenging days, through:

Adventure and exploration activities

Climbing, hiking and scavenger hunts through nature, treasure hunts, guidance and night exploration games.

Group and community activities

Trust and team building games, cooperative games, group decision making, reflection circles, team games and traditional Portuguese games;

Creativity and innovation activities

Crafts, theater, music, dance, use of natural materials, creative writing and story circles;

Sustainability and regeneration activities

Taking care of gardens, crops, composting, jam making, soap making, introduction to Permaculture design and transformation of learning spaces, natural building.

Shift II: July 13 to 19 (7 days) | 8 - 12 years old (NOT AVAILABLE)
Shift III: 26 July to 6 August (12 days) | 12 - 17 years old
Shift IV: 12 to 20 August (9 days) | 8 - 17 years SOLD OUT (You can stay on the waiting list) 10 registrations through Associação Novas Descobertas and 20 registrations through IPDJ*
Shift V: 26 August to 1 September (7 days) | 8 - 17 years old SOLD OUT (You can stay on the waiting list)

IPDJ funding

* O Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youththrough the program "Holidays on the Move" funds places (young people aged 10 to 17) in the summer camp - Shift IV - (from August 12 to 20) at reduced prices, however to occupy these places you must register directly with this institution (FROM MAY, 2024) at the YOUTH PROGRAMS PLATFORM - BY FIRST PERFORMING THE REGISTRATION of your student(s) and then selecting - FÉRIAS EM MOVIMENTO - FARO - choosing the New Discoveries IV Summer Camp option and following the steps indicated.

Price Includes

  • Accommodation and meals (camping system and 5 meals a day);
  • Personal accident insurance;
  • Animators with New Discoveries training and professional competence (in a ratio of 1 for every 5 children) present 24 hours a day at the camp;
  • Activities, travel (within the scope of the summer camp) and fast-wearing materials.

How to participate


Step 2: Wait for an email from Associação Novas Descobertas confirming your online registration and indicating the amount of the deposit to be made. Do not make any payment without receiving this email.

Step 3: Readings of the following documents:

Step 4: Complete the remaining payment no later than 2 weeks before the start of the camp your child is attending.
