An opportunity to develop practical skills in group facilitation and leadership in the field of social and environmental education, as well as team collaboration and management of educational activities.
It includes training and monitoring of personal learning objectives, participation in the Novas Descobertas Training, facilitation workshops and collaborative learning sessions. Practice will take place by joining the teams of Summer Camps, International Work Camps and other Novas Descobertas activities taking place between June and September. The dates and number of specific activities to take part in will be agreed with the participants, according to availability and supply.
This experience is ideal for those who want to develop skills in creating learning communities, managing social initiatives and practicing group facilitation techniques and energizing games and activities.
At the end of this internship, participants will have the necessary background to run summer camps and other activities in the context of non-formal education.
Specific learning
Theoretical and practical training:
- Participation in Novas Descobertas Training (Easter week)
- Sessions for creating, managing and reflecting on personal learning objectives
Practical experience as a Novas Descobertas summer team:
- Participation in the Novas Descobertas Summer Team
- Collaborative design of activity programs in the context of Education for Regeneration
- Teamwork and communication
- Games, dynamics and activities for creating groups
- Key roles and functions for managing programs and activities
- Facilitation techniques for games and dynamics
- Key educational activities for Regeneration; including expression, health, sport and project creation.

For whom?
Young people (16+) and adults who are motivated to expand their experience and knowledge by joining the Novas Descobertas Summer Team. We give priority to former participants of our summer camp activities and Facilitation Training, or other similar training.
Each year we select up to 6 participants.
What does it include?
- Theoretical training; including Novas Descobertas Training (Every year during Easter week)
- Learning by doing, as part of the Novas Descobertas Summer Team; for a period of 2 to 6 weeks during the months of June to September.
- Camping and meals (with access to showers, toilets, cafeteria and leisure areas) during the learning experiences.
- Mentoring and individualized support in the creation and management of individual learning goals.
- Personal accident and assistance insurance.
