Effective pedagogy leads to better programs
From the need to act in a world undergoing profound changes in the perception of the individual's relationship with the natural spaces they integrate, comes the proposal to organize learning in a phased, cyclical and fractal method, the result of years of observation of group processes in contact with nature.
We believe that learning happens as part of the experience and personal relationship we develop with knowledge, as well as with the places, communities and cultures in which we are immersed.
Novas Descobertas Cycle
The Novas Descobertas Association creates programs based on our pedagogical methodology. We call it the Novas Descobertas Cycle. It consists of four interconnected phases, each containing a set of programs.
The cycle awakens the senses and allows for authentic DISCOVERY, which is the basis of the desire to LEARN the techniques and tools to MAKE it happen and explore regenerative practices, sequentially sharing the results and participating in the regeneration of our planet.

Awareness and regeneration
Opportunities for direct contact with nature's cycles and materials, through social, artistic, recreational and sporting activities that awaken a sense of wonder and questioning, opening doors to a more ecological and active attitude.
Includes residential summer camps; Days at the Farm customized programs for schools and groups; and Leisure Activities throughout the year.
Learning Programs
Regenerative tools
Courses and workshops that allow for a principled and progressive building of regenerative knowledge and skills. The focus areas of these programs are: youth leadership and group facilitation, as well as Permaculture Design and Ecosystem Regeneration.
Includes Ecosystem Regeneration Camps; Permaculture Design Course with a focus on collaborative design; Permaculture Teacher Training, according to Rosemary Morrow's curriculum; Animation and Leadership Training for Regeneration, for young people and animators; and an annual cycle of different workshops.

Regeneration in practice
Opportunities to join the learning community and the teams at Novas Descobertas Association and Vale da Lama, and to learn in practice how to collaborate as a team, participate in work routines, develop and implement activities, as well as how to base regenerative professional practices.
Includes the Novas Descobertas Internship program and Volunteering at Novas Descobertas Association.

Bringing regeneration to others
The Novas Descobertas Association is always available and motivated to establish new partnerships and participate in projects aimed at the development and regenerative response of our bioregion.
At the heart of this association are the values of inclusion, diversity and innovation, as well as the aspiration to contribute to a society that is active in the regeneration between human beings and their natural landscape.
We also offer and facilitate a variety of programs funded by the Erasmus program.
